Although the effectiveness of timed intercourse is not high, this fertility treatment has some advantages.
Timed intercourse is similar to natural pregnancy, as only the woman's menstrual cycle is monitored in order to schedule intercourse at the time of ovulation. In addition, directed intercourse is more economical than any other assisted reproductive technique.
Finally, timed intercourse does not require the patient to administer large amounts of hormones. This results in less stress for the patient.
