If a man or woman intends to become a sperm or egg donor, respectively, he or she must go to a fertility clinic or gamete bank. In order to be accepted as a donor, the candidate must undergo certain medical tests, as well as a thorough psychological study.
Only if all the test results (including the psychological check-up) are favorable, can sperm or egg donation finally take place.
