The process of assisted reproduction is generally considered a taboo subject that couples do not usually discuss openly with their environment. It is important to identify the emotional need to have both friends and family close by, as the empathy and support they can provide is beneficial both for the couple's mental health and for the temporary lifestyle change the couple has to take (visits to doctors, hormone administration...).
In addition, the coping mechanisms can be positively influenced by the people who know and love us best. In this way, negative or maladaptive behaviors are removed and positive or adaptive ones are helped to be implemented.
