The measurement of basal body temperature can be a useful method to verify that ovulation has occurred, since this temperature increases by about 0.5 degrees once a woman has ovulated.
To perform this method correctly, it is important to take into account certain recommendations when measuring basal body temperature on a daily basis. These recommendations are:
- Measure the temperature at rest, as soon as you wake up, even before getting up.
- Use the same thermometer.
- Note other reasons that may cause a variation in basal temperature.
However, despite these precautions, this method of assessing a woman's most fertile period can be inaccurate. Nevertheless, many women have used it because of its simplicity.
