Sperm agglutination may indicate the presence of anti-sperm antibodies. However, this is not the only cause of sperm agglutination.
Other possible reasons why sperm agglutination may occur include the following:
- Very high concentration of spermatozoa in the ejaculate.
- Changes in the pH of the semen due to problems in the accessory glands (due to inflammatory or infectious processes).
- Increased body temperature during febrile processes.
- Determined types of bacteria can produce agglutination in semen.
