Those men with a high weight who want to become fathers should start eating a balanced diet and playing sports to lose weight. In some cases, thanks to diet and physical exercise, semen quality improves and it is possible to achieve pregnancy naturally.
Other times these measures are not enough to improve semen quality in men, so it would be necessary to resort to assisted reproduction. Specifically, the recommended fertility treatment in these situations is IVF-ICSI.
Despite this, it is important to highlight that men with a high body mass index (BMI) may have greater sperm fragmentation, which would cause a greater risk of implantation failure and spontaneous abortions.
