The foetus is about 25 cm long by the end of the fifth month of gestation and can weigh up to 300 grams. During this month, its skin is covered with a fatty, whitish-coloured substance that will protect it, vernix caseosa.
However, other important events also take place during this month, such as the baby beginning to perceive sounds and the delimitation of 4 cavities (2 atria and 2 ventricles) in its heart.
As for the mother-to-be, it is common during this month to notice the baby's movements and to experience changes such as, for example, the navel beginning to protrude.
