Transfer of 1 or 2 embryos

In Spain for example, law 14/2006 allows the transfer of a maximum of 3 embryos into the patient's uterus after IVF treatment. However, it is more common to transfer 1 or 2 embryos, in order to avoid multiple pregnancies and the risks associated with this type of gestation.

The woman or couple undergoing IVF treatment will decide the number of embryos to transfer, always according to the recommendation of the specialist and after being informed of the benefits and risks of transferring 1, 2 or 3 embryos.
