Prior to IVF treatment, the woman or couple is informed of the possibility of obtaining surplus embryos. In this way, they must fill out and sign an informed consent form where the destination they have decided for these embryos is reflected among the possible uses contemplated in the law 14/2006.
However, this informed consent must be renewed at least every 2 years. Furthermore, there is also the possibility of modifying the destination chosen for these frozen embryos.
