Teratomas have different treatments depending on their nature. Surgery is usually used for their removal. In addition, if the tumor is malignant, the patient should receive chemotherapy sessions.
Benign ovarian tumors are usually operated on laparoscopically. This is a minimally invasive technique in which an instrument with a camera and light is introduced through the abdomen to be able to observe the interior of the cavity. The scar that remains is very small.
