One of the main endocrine disorders that can lead to women having high levels of androgens is polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Due to excess androgens or hyperandrogenism, women with PCOS may have the following symptoms:
- Hirsutism.
- Acne.
In addition, excess androgens can cause menstrual disturbances, which could cause these patients to have difficulty conceiving.
