Young women with tied tubes who wish to become mothers may consider tubal ligation reversal as an alternative to IVF if they are going to have more than one child in the future. Tubal ligation reversal is a more complex surgery than ligation itself. In addition, recanalization is not always possible and, even if it is, it does not always involve the recovery of the permeability and functionality of the tubes, so it does not ensure the possibility of a natural pregnancy. Nevertheless, the new microsurgical techniques allow better results to be obtained in this operation and, therefore, offer the possibility of a new pregnancy to many women.
