In the first trimester of pregnancy, it is common for a pregnant woman's temperature to increase slightly by a few tenths of a degree. This is due to the hormonal changes that women experience during pregnancy, as hormones can influence the temperature.
While estrogens promote a lower body temperature, progesterone has the opposite effect. Thus, hormonal changes would be related to hot flashes in early pregnancy.
