When the male is going to undergo a vasectomy, it is advisable to freeze some semen samples beforehand. It is true that the male should undergo this procedure when he is sure that his reproductive desire has been fulfilled, but sometimes circumstances change and he may change his mind.
Therefore, having frozen semen will allow the male to try to get pregnant again (by assisted reproductive techniques) despite having a vasectomy.
On the other hand, if the male has not frozen sperm prior to the vasectomy and has a reproductive desire again, he can undergo a vasovasostomy or resort directly to a testicular biopsy and assisted reproductive techniques.
