Vaginal discharge has normal variations due to different hormone levels throughout the menstrual cycle. However, women should be aware of possible changes in their discharge that are out of the ordinary. These changes can occur in its:
- Consistency.
- Color.
- Smell.
- Quantity.
Therefore, if any variation in these characteristics of cervical mucus is detected, a specialist should be consulted. The reason is that there may be an infection that has produced these changes.
