If a woman forgets to take a tablet of the combined oral contraceptive pill in week 3, she can do either of these two alternatives:
- Take the tablet when you remember it and continue taking the rest of the pills as usual. However, the woman should start the next blister pack without a week's break or placebo week.
- Stop taking the pills in the current blister pack and wait a maximum of 7 days (including the day of forgetting) to start a new blister pack.
Thus, as long as the previous 7 days the pill was taken correctly, it will not be necessary to use another contraceptive method.
