The probability of achieving a pregnancy naturally is not high, even if the couple does not present any alteration of the reproductive function. Moreover, as time goes by, the success rate accumulates. For this reason, experts recommend waiting a year with regular unprotected sexual relations before seeing a specialist.
According to data from the Spanish Fertility Society (SEF), if regular unprotected sex is maintained for 3 months, the probability of achieving pregnancy is 57%. This percentage increases after 6 months to 72% and after one year to 85%.
